Early Success and Expansion
ICA's founder, Tom Gunderson Sr., leased office space from a locally owned independent bank. As interest rates began to fall, bank customers faced a challenging decision: where to invest their money now that their high-yield CDs were earning lower rates. The bank president referred these clients to Tom, who provided sound investment guidance and earned their respect. This success led Tom to franchise his concept, partnering with community banks across North Dakota to place experienced advisors in their lobbies.
Our Growth and Evolution
The model proved effective, and ICA expanded rapidly across the Midwest and beyond. Our Loveland, Colorado office was established in 1993, thanks to Tom's support and vision. Over the years, ICA continued to grow and evolve, eventually becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of LPL Financial in 2017.
